A Couple’s Guide to Paris

Paris is well known for being one of, if not the, most romantic city in the world. However, this is only if you know what you’re doing! If you don’t know what to do in Paris as a couple, chances are you’ll end up waiting for hours to see the Eiffel Tower and get ripped off in below par restaurants. With that in mind, read this guide to get the most out of your couple’s getaway:

Visit One of the Best Restaurants or Bars

You simply haven’t visited Paris if you don’t have a candle-lit meal under the stars with a bottle of the finest wine money can buy (or the finest you can afford). Here are some of the best:

  • Le Baron Rouge – this is more of a wine bar than a restaurant, but it plays nice soft music, has tables hidden in dimly lit corners and serves fresh oysters. Perfect for couples.

  • Les Ombres – you’ll find this place on the 5th floor of the Musee Quai Branly. It has some amazing views, and the French menu serves plenty of Lobster, foie gras, truffles, and caviar. You could even have afternoon tea here. A great place for a posh date.

  • La Dame de Canton – this place was once a wooden barge, but it’s now a place you can enjoy live world music. Below deck there’s a cosy restaurant that serves plenty of classic French food.

  • Flute l’Etoile – you can have as many cocktails as you fancy here in this charming bar. You can find plenty of deals on too!

Have a Drink by the Seine

If you don’t want to go to one of the posh cocktail bars or restaurants you don’t have to – have a drink by the river Seine instead! Buy your own bottle of something nice and watch the sparkly stars shine in the water. There are plenty of places for you to set up camp too, so make sure you pack a cosy blanket to snuggle up under! Find a great hotel right by the Seine here.

Take a Romantic Stroll

What sounds more romantic than taking a stroll hand in hand with your loved one through the Paris streets? Here are some of the nicest places to do just that:

  • The banks of the River Seine – every film scene that’s been filmed in Paris probably includes something filmed here. The views are something else, and although you might think it’s a bit of a cliche – you can’t miss it! Get some ice cream at Berthillon – one of the best parlours in Paris.

  • Luxembourg Gardens – Paris has plenty of gorgeous gardens that you can get lost in with your loved one. Luxembourg castle, immaculate lawns, and pretty plants aplenty – you’ll have a great time.

There are so many more romantic activities to try too – a Seine dinner cruise, a horse and carriage ride…oh, and don’t forget to visit love lock bridge to add your lock and cement your relationship!
